In 2023, as I started my consulting business, I decided to also open a small business as an avenue of self-expression. During the past year, I was able to produce 50+ products, make 1500+ sales, gain a following of 14k+, generate 2 million impressions, and achieve over 5 figures of revenue.
Bunny Bun Bakery is a project (and business) of self-expression. Via it I am the sole "employee". I animate, draw, create, manufacture, negotiate, market, package, ship, and so much more, across various platforms and art mediums. Below are just a small snippet of products I've brought to life:
Rather than touch upon all of these products, let's hone in on my most ambitious project yet:
Functionality, Aesthetics, Lower Price Point
Via survey market research of my followers, I learned that my customers appreciate cute aesthetics, however equally or more so value price point, longevity, and practical applications. Through my own research and ideation, I conceptualized a plush wallet that would meet and exceed my customers' needs.
Research & Concept Development
Recognizing what is popular in the market while keeping my bakery brand, I made these two characters and began advertising the ideas on social media, soliciting feedback and generating interest.
Manufacturer & Procurement
Reaching out to 10+ manufacturers to compare pricing, materials, and capabilities (utilizing my haggling abilities).
Prototype Iteration
Continually communicating with manufacturers to revise samples. This process was expedited through my Chinese knowledge (my first language!), eliminating communication barriers and reducing iterations.
As of today, July 16th, I have raised more than $5700, while having 17 more days to go! This marks >250% of my initial funding goal.

Understanding my customers gave me solid ground to produce something they value. However, without the help of social media I would not have gained as much visibility. Several videos I produced have gone viral online, gaining a massive amount of engagement. This led to the perceived popularity. Maximizing FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) I created the campaign that is only available for a limited amount of time for a cheaper pricing. Furthermore, I made 3 Early-bird tiers that had limited spots for free products. This allowed me to gain more than $1000+ in the first hour, and 100% funding the campaign in the first 8 hours.
These qualities were backed by the core pillars of a quality product and competitive pricing. I made a product people want, made it well, and made it a good deal, resulting in a compelling product that marketing and stories can spread to the masses.
